Read the guides first. Ask for help if you’d rather not figure it out alone.

How it usually goes

  1. Try the guides. A lot of people get most of the way there from the articles alone.
  2. Book a session if you want someone to walk through passwords, 2FA, backups, devices, self-hosting, home automation, or similar with you. I’ll keep it plain. The goal is that you can keep it going yourself afterward.
  3. Need a website or software? That’s TechTrek Solutions.

What I can cover

  • • Backups (and checking restore actually works)
  • • Laptop and phone hardening
  • • Simple habits for handling client files
  • • Self-hosting (files, vaults, notes, and similar services)
  • • Home automation with more local control, less cloud lock-in
  • • Switching to privacy-friendlier everyday tools

I’ll quote a fixed price before we start. Basics work is usually in the low hundreds of euros. Self-hosting and home automation depend on how deep you want to go.

  • • Scare tactics or fake urgency
  • • Big corporate security audits
  • • A retainer you don’t need

FAQ

Can I just use the guides?

Yes. That’s fine. Help is optional.

Do I need to be a TechTrek client?

No. Anyone can get in touch. If we already have a TechTrek project running, I can sometimes add a short security session to that work.

Will you set up everything for me?

I’ll do the main accounts with you, then show you how to finish the rest so you’re not stuck calling me every week.

Where are you based?

Malta. Video calls work well; in person when it makes sense.
